About Stephan
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
- Howard Thurman
Broadway, Boardroom, and the Business of Building Things That Last
I’ve performed in Mary Poppins on Broadway, co-founded a $4.7M nonprofit theatre company, and coached senior leaders at multinational companies across four continents. What those experiences have in common, I’ve come to believe, is that every organization eventually succeeds or fails on how well its systems and its people work together.
I co-founded Transcendence Theatre Company (TranscendenceTheatre.org) and spent a decade helping grow it from a grassroots startup into a $4.7M nonprofit, leading marketing and sales while growing annual earned income from $270K to $1.9M and lifting annual ticketed attendance from 5K to 32K. I co-led an expansion into three new territories and built 40+ nonprofit partnerships that anchored the organization in the communities it served. It’s the kind of work that teaches you fast what it takes to scale something without letting it break.
Since stepping out of that role, I’ve built and run Broadway In Love (BroadwayInLove.com), a nationwide touring concert production I operate as a solo entrepreneur. Running an entire business alone has taught me lean operations in a way that leading a full team never did. I’ve booked 44 venues across the country, managed hybrid workforce logistics, and built AI-assisted workflows that automate contract generation and financial analysis.
I also serve as Vice President of the Ohio Arts Professionals Network (OAPN.org), working alongside presenters, venue leaders, agents, and artists to strengthen the state’s performing arts ecosystem.
Alongside the touring work, I maintain a selective executive coaching practice. As a Professional Certified Coach (PCC, CPCC) and Certified Predictive Index Partner, I’ve logged 700+ hours of 1:1 coaching, including work with C-suite and director-level leaders at multinational companies across four continents. The coaching work has given me something I couldn’t have gotten any other way: a view into how executives and senior leaders actually make the decisions that shape their careers, their teams, and their organizations.
Before any of this, I trained in one of the most unforgiving environments in the world: live performance. I performed on Broadway, sang an opening act solo for Frank Sinatra at Cincinnati Music Hall, and learned early the passion, persistence, and discipline it takes to be a peak performer.
I’m currently seeking my next executive role, where I can bring this combination of operational discipline, revenue growth, and people development to an organization ready to scale or deepen its impact.
